Activities include:

  • Children’s authors read their books and answer questions
  • Hands-on fun at dedicated activity workshops
  • Read to rabbits in science lab at the popular Books and Bunnies
  • Be the first to shop the Book Fair
  • Find out if you’re a lucky winner - amazing baskets will be raffled off so don’t forget your tickets.
  • Eat your heart out - choose from 5th Grade pizza, and more delicious food from our local business supporters (PIE)

Sign up to volunteer at the Pajama Party.

SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR

This year’s SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR will open with the Pajama Party on September 28 at 5pm and continue October 1-5 in the library. You are invited to join your child to help them select books they will enjoy reading for the Read-A-Thon and all year long.

All classes will visit the Book Fair, giving students an opportunity to create their wish list, which they will bring home to parents. Also be sure to check out your teacher’s wish list of books at the Book Fair that they’d like to add to their classroom.

Parents can purchase books before or after school or during the Pajama Party on September 28. Parents can also send money or a check payable to Parents for Carpenter (PFC) with their children to make their purchases. Gift certificates also available!

Sign up to volunteer at the Book Fair.

The Book Fair will be open:
Pajama Party (9/28)                    5:00pm - 7:00pm
Monday - Friday (10/1-10/5)        7:30am - 3:30-m (Tuesday until 2:30pm)

READ-A-THON

The 4th annual READ-A-THON is a great way to foster a love of reading - while raising money for Parents for Carpenter.

Register your child(ren) to participate in our fantastic new reading time tracking tool, www.CarpenterReads.com.

The online registration is easy! You’ll need an email address to create your account, your readers’ names and teachers’ names. All of your readers can be added in the same account. If you registered last year, you must register again this year with your child’s updated information.

Every child who logs Read-A-Thon minutes will receive a reading medal. The class with the highest percentage of Read-a-Thon participants and total number of minutes read will receive a California Pizza Kitchen pizza party, so be sure to support your teacher!

Be sure to check our Facebook page for ideas on how to promote the Read-A-Thon - both with your children and donors!

SPONSOR YOUR READERS!

Support Carpenter's enrichment programs by sponsoring your readers by the pages or minutes they read or with a flat donation amount for the entire reading period. Ask friends and family to donate too (grandparents love to support and sponsor reading):

Easy online donations here: https://carpenteres.ejoinme.org/MyPages/ReadaThon/tabid/720518/Default.aspx
