Focus on Music
PFC funding makes possible school-wide participation in a comprehensive music program, encompassing music history, singing, appreciation, movement and rhythm instrument instruction. This year, Carpenter is excited to welcome TWO brand-new music teachers who will bring their own experiences and unique talents to our music education program.
Our new 2nd - 5th grade music teacher is Lucy Stewart. Ms. Stewart holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the University of Washington where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Choral Emphasis. She also holds a Single Subject Teaching Credential in California in General Musick Choir, Band, and Orchestra.
For all primary students in grades TK/K and 1st, Anthony Federov will serve as our music teacher. He has extensive experience in off-Broadway shows and both regional and international theater. He has appeared in the following productions to name just a few:
- Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
- Les Miserable
- Hairspray
- The Sound of Music
For the past three years, Mr. Fedorov has taught primary music (Pre-K & K) classes in Los Angeles. He uses music to teach children critical developmental skills and empathy and believes that music can be used to nurture a child's love and enthusiasm for learning.
