Room Parents

Room Parent Overview

Being a room parent for your child's teacher is one of the most rewarding experiences to be found at Carpenter Community Charter. The room parent(s) acts as a liaison between the teachers, the parent organizations, and class families. Responsibilities vary based on each classroom's need, but may include assisting the teacher in coordinating field trips, collections for class funds, producing the class yearbook and coordinating class volunteers. The room parent(s) duties also include facilitating communications between the school and the families of the class by maintaining the class roster, forwarding e-mails, making phone calls (as needed).

No previous experience is necessary. This is a great way to get to know the teacher and other parents, be informed, and be involved in the school and your child's education.

Below we have outlined most of the responsibilities of the job. Please click on the links below to learn more. Notes and examples have been included. Every teacher has different needs, so do the best you can to find out what they are.
